【小書摘】
When every detail of what you taught has been forgotten, a touch of your enthusiasm, encouragement and kindness will remain.

You made us feel it is perfectly all right to be ordinary—because ordinary people aren’t really ordinary at all. Each one has something special they can do. And every one is especially valuable to the people that they love. But, if you don’t want to be ordinary, you needn’t be. Who knows what you can do if you follow your special beliefs with all your mind and courage.

A classroom can simply be an extension of the threatening world—or it can be an oasis. Whatever chaos reigned outside—we knew we’d find order, justice and a chance to learn inside your classroom. And tolerance. And laughter. And excitement.

Teachers are remembered more for what they were than what they taught.
